Hot Spot
Description
A Hot Spot is any location where Wi-Fi broadband network access is made publicly available through a wireless local area network (WLAN).through the use of a router connected to a link to an Internet service provider. Hotspots typically use Wi-Fi technology. Hot Spots are often located in heavily populated places and typically have a short range of access. Another definition we can use for Hot Spot is a spot where broadband access (Internet) is shared in a wireless way employing Wi-Fi technology. The public can use a laptop or other suitable portable device to access the wireless connection (usually Wi-Fi) provided.
Hot Spots are often found at restaurants, train stations, airports, libraries, coffee shops, bookstores, fuel stations, department stores, supermarkets and other public places. Many universities and schools have wireless networks in their campus. Technically speaking, Hot Spots consist of one or several wireless access points installed inside buildings and/or adjoining outdoor areas.
